RAV News - March 2010

We at arts2GO figure that it's never too early to think ahead, particularly if you want to snaffle all the good stuff before anyone else does (remember the Earlybird?). That's why we start our programming process almost a full year in advance, so that we can ensure that the best of the best are On the Road , On Call and Ongoing with us, meaning that they are available to you!

This year, more than ever, we want to hear from teachers, youth workers, local councillors, art therapists, vacation care managers... anyone at all who works with or plans for CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE. We want to know what YOU think of the applications we have received so far, and what else you want us to find.

Over the next month, arts2GO will be giving everyone the opportunity to view and comment on the numerous applications that we have received from artists, across a number of disciplines, all of whom are hoping to visit your community and work with your young people. You can choose your level of involvement, from 5 minutes to a full day.

To register your interest, contact arts2GO@rav.net.au!

Before you do, check out some of THIS year's gems hitting the road SOON!

Literacy gets HILARIOUS!

Literacy gets HILARIOUS!

The genius of Circus Oz Musical Director, Chris Lewis, teamed with the slapstick brilliance of the Complete Works Theatre Company ensemble makes Poetry Alive! the motivator of the year!

Wordplay, rhyme and rhythm are combined with side-splitting results in this exploration of much-loved children's classics such as Jabberwocky, Mulga Bill's Bicycle and excerpts from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes.

A major hit at Federation Square in 2009, this show is guaranteed to illuminate the funny side of words.

Queensland Clowns... in Your Town!

The Clown from Snowy River is an energetic, hilarious exploration of the Australian national identity presented by the critically acclaimed deBASE Productions. The Swagman, inspired by his beloved Banjo Paterson, sets out to stage the traditional version of Australian history. His clown assistant Dazza, however, intends to shed new light on the past (and get his own scene in!)

An excellent companion to studies of History and Humanities, as well as those of Drama.

Ideal for Years 7 - 12
