Term One 2010 - Only a Summer Away!

Aaah! Only four weeks to go before Summer holidays!

Oceans to bob around in... Novels to catch up on... Gatherings to attend... How awesome is that??

Before you all head off to seven weeks of fun, however, spare a thought for Term One!

To many it is the busiest and most chaotic term in the school calendar, and often a rude awakening after two months of relative calm!

Luckily, arts2GO has two programs to get that term off to a promising start... and both include detailed teacher resources to make things that much easier!

Martial Funk with KITA Performing Arts Company is an excellent companion to studies of Asian language and arts and offers an update on funky new trends in Asian dance and music!

Impro Melbourne are back in Term One with their inimitable improvised madness! A perfect introduction to Drama or confidence builder for new Year 7s or as a 'pep-up' for older drama students to get them back into the swing of things!

We have also included a range of Term Two programs to start thinking about... and don't forget about that Earlybird (the one who has the stash of worms)!

After you've had a browse (and booked your programs of course) HAVE A LOVELY SUMMER!!

Impro to the MAX!

Impro to the MAX!

arts2GO's most popular company in 2009, Impro Melbourne is back for 2010 with three exciting programs to inspire, motivate and, above all, entertain!

Impro Zone is an exciting performance that illustrates and inspires creativity and risk taking by demonstrating the fundamentals of Theatresports™. As an added bonus, these guys are HILARIOUS!

Losing the Plot takes texts from the 2010 English and Drama syllabus, takes ingredients from the audience and twists them about into a wilder version of their original selves! Great for stimuli studies and as a pre-cursor to creative responses to texts in VCE English and Literature.

Impro & Theatresports™  Workshops offer students the opportunity to work closely with the Impro Melbourne gang to hone their own impro skills. Excellent as a 'follow-up' post performance or as a team-building activity!

Touring statewide 22 - 26 February

Losing the Plot and Impro Zone suitable for Year 7 - 12. Workshops suitable for Year 5-12

Eco-Cubby 2010 - Applications Closing Soon!

After the astonishing success of the 2009 pilot project Eco-Cubby is BACK!

This year ten schools across Victoria worked with their very own architect to brainstorm, plan and create a sustainable cubby house for their school or kindergarten.

Schools came up with a plethora of ideas that involved mud bricks, palm fronds and recycled tyres, amazing teachers and architects alike with their creativity and advanced knowledge of climate change and sustainable living!

If you would like your school to participate in the 2010 Eco-Cubby program, get your skates on and apply by 30 November 2009!

National Gallery of Victoria comes to you!

National Gallery of Victoria comes to you!

Based on the successful Dressed to Rule: Imperial Robes of China exhibition, Decoding the Qing Dynasty is a workshop which offers students an education through arts experience with a focus on developing values that support intercultural understanding.

Drawing on ancient Chinese mythology, the cosmos, philosophy and nature, students will be inspired to design and create a miniature robe reflecting the traditional symbols and decorative motifs.

This program provides an exciting opportunity to address multi-disciplinary learning for the VELS and identifies the broad knowledge, understandings, values and skills required to engage with other cultures.

Touring in Regional Victoria Only 20 - 22 April

Suitable for Year 5 - 9
