Footy finals time is just around the corner. If you’re going to a game, consider bringing the boat in to the Waterfront City Marina. We’re a short walk from Etihad Stadium and a quick tram or train ride away from the MCG.

Plus, with kitchen, laundry, internet and lounge facilities on site, we’re also a great spot to settle in for a fun weekend in Melbourne. Here are some more great reasons to visit us, and to visit the city.

First Cruise In movie night First Cruise In movie night

More than 250 people cruised into Waterfront City Marina for the unique pleasure of watching movies from the deck, via an inflatable floating screen. Great weather conditions and free popcorn for the kids was a winning combination, as boaters kicked back to enjoy films such as Jaws, Master and Commander and Finding Nemo.

Alma Doepel: planning brings results Alma Doepel: planning brings results

Have you noticed a topsail schooner berthed at Shed 2 (Victoria Dock)? That’s the Alma Doepel, built in 1903 and now being lovingly restored. She’s been seriously stripped to allow for work on her hull and rig and so she’s looking a bit worse for wear at the moment. But it’s all for a good cause. And the project is creating training opportunities and jobs for young people.

Introducing Sojourn Introducing Sojourn

Waterfront City Marina was proud to host a naming ceremony for an impressive new yacht. The newly-named Sojourn is a Dufour 525, and belongs to a proud couple, Kerry and Linda McGorlick. Boat enthusiasts have been excited to see this striking yacht berthed in Melbourne, but we think the owners will be more excited as they head off on their first trip aboard Sojourn, circumnavigating Australia.

Here’s wishing them fair winds and fine weather.
