Supporting Melbourne’s reputation for style

More than 75,000 people are employed in design roles in Victoria. Victoria is home to more than 4,000 design consultancies, most of which are energetic small businesses employing less than five people and contributing more than AU$4.8 billion to Victoria's economy.

Melbourne’s reputation for design innovation is showcased throughout the city over the next few months, and the City of Melbourne is making sure the reputation continues by helping young designers gain recognition on the world stage by supporting initiatives like Melbourne Movement.

Melbourne Movement works to increase the demand for a design economy by endorsing the value of Melbourne design by sending a group of graduate designers to the Salone.

Internazionale del Mobile Milan, the world’s premier design and furniture festival, to open the doors to the international design market for Melbourne’s newest design innovators.
